A large part of Gamma Zeta is our participation and dedication to philanthropy. Each member takes pride in being a large part of the philanthropic events that occur on and off the University of Oregon campus. We are not happy with just hosting a successful event ourselves, but a large amount of Sigma Nus can be seen at events put on by other chapters in the Greek community throughout the year as well. Every fall Sigma Nu hosts an event by the name of Kick Ball Cancer. This is a kick ball tournament with intentions to educate the community about Prostate cancer and to raise money for our national foundation The Helping Hand. Year after year the Greek community and other organizations around Eugene get to together for an afternoon full of Kick Ball and fun; all for a good cause.
A few highlights from the recent years consist of a wide range of accomplishments. In 2012 brother Andrew Harman was voted Delta Gamma’s Anchor man. We started off the 2012-2013 school year by winning Greek Week’s Most Spirited award. And lastly we had an 7 teams participate in Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Dodgeball tournament. We are all very appreciative of what the Eugene community gives us and we are always glad to give back and help the community and the people around us.
